Why do visitors spend an average of over 4 hours visiting Liberty Science Center? There are a ton of great things to do, see, and try. As the fast-growing museum in the nation, LSC offers its own unique, quirky take on fun, with the aim of getting everyone excited about the power, promise, and pure fun of science and technology. Set near the Statue of Liberty in Liberty State Park, Jersey City, NJ, LSC is a sparkling new, 300,000- square-foot museum. More than 700,000 people come each year to explore 12 exhibit galleries. They can try hands-on laboratory science experiments, see massive aquarium tanks filled with huge fish, visit a mini zoo brimming with strange and exotic animals, and take a cosmic voyage in the Western Hemisphere's biggest planetarium. There is even a Sesame Street planetarium show for young explorers. Looking for adventure? Walk along the length of an I-beam 18 feet above the floor, climb 35 feet into the air on a series of small platforms in the Infinity Climber, or navigate through the pitch-black Touch Tunnel. See live science demonstrations, take in a laser show, or watch us create two million volts of indoor lightning with our twin Tesla Coils. In warmer months, head outside to challenge our Wildlife Challenge obstacle course and dig through 35 tons of sand to excavate fossil casts, just like a real dinosaur hunter. Liberty Science Center has experiences for ages 2 and up and specializes in student and travel including seniors and performance groups. Check us out at LSC.org. You won't believe how much there is to see and do.
